About this design

Designed for dense urban plots where land is scarce and expensive, this townhouse fits a full family home onto forty feet of frontage. The party walls are structural, so the design repeats economically along a row without redrawing the scheme each time.

Parking and a home office occupy the ground floor, living and dining sit on the first floor away from street noise, and the bedrooms take the quiet top storey. A rear light well keeps the stair core naturally lit through all three levels.

The front elevation uses a perforated screen that shades the glazing, gives the interior privacy from the pavement, and still lets the rooms read as bright and open from inside.
