About this design

The cheapest way into a home of your own is to build a small one properly and extend it later, and that is exactly what this design is set up for. Phase one is a complete, liveable two-bedroom house of eight hundred and sixty square feet.

The foundations, roof line and service runs are all drawn to accept a phase two extension of a third bedroom and a second bathroom, so nothing built in phase one has to be demolished or rerouted when the time comes.

The structure uses standard block sizes and a single-pitch roof to keep waste, labour and material costs to a minimum.
